Norristown Ford effectively campaigned a '63 1/2 Lightweight Galaxie during the 1963 season, and continued that success with a 1964 Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt was ordered and owned by the dealership and raced until being involved in an accident in 1966.

Rich Lamont, an employee at the dealership and tuner of the original car, reconstructed a clone and races his 427FE Fairlane more than any of the Thunderbolt owners presently competing. The car is updated in all respects, engine, suspension, brakes, transmission, but still appears to be a classic nostalgia style race car.
